(I’m off to bed, and surprise, surprise: I got a sunburn on a section of my right arm. Owwie. >.< )

zerefthekillingmage:

He smiled at her, then looking down at the bird, smiling at him as well. “Shouldn’t you be going, Eclair?..”

Eclair nodded. “Don’t forget what I told you. Besides, one of the people you supposedly scared off is waiting for you. They might have just needed time to build up the courage. Good bye, mage” she gave a soft smile and a  nod before turning around and going on her way once more.

zerefthekillingmage:

Her words cause his eyes to widen slightly, as the smile remains on his face. “Alright.. I’ll see you around, maybe?..”

“Maybe,” she nods. It was very unlikely though, seeing as how she was always on the move. She rarely went back to an area, if ever, and it was usually to a town if she had received wrong directions. Still, if it made this sad person happy then it wouldn’t hurt.

zerefthekillingmage:

He nodded, smiling faintly. “I’ll be sure to, Eclair.”

“…I like it better when you smile, even if you are a mage” Eclair returns the gesture and picks up Momon. “I have to get going, though” Not that I know where I’m headed or anything

zerefthekillingmage:

“Oh, no.. I don’t know any specifics, the name “Phoenix Stone” just sounds familiar in a way..” He sighed, frowning. “Sorry I was of no help.”

Her hopes were quickly dashed. “It’s fine,” she spoke monotonously. “It holds some sort of magic, though. The fact that it brought Momon to life is proof of that,” she fixated it back into its clasp and tucked it beneath her wrappings again. “If you do remember then please let me know…if I’m still in the area.”

zerefthekillingmage:

“The.. Phoenix Stone?.. I’ve heard of that somewhere..” He observed the stone and nodded. “I see.. Maybe it’s a magical item..”

“Please tell me everything you know” Eclair was serious now. If this man knew anything about the stone then it might bring back memories. Even if it couldn’t do that, then it would be nice to know more about the piece of rock that she was carrying around.

zerefthekillingmage:

His eyes widen slightly, as he stood up normally, looking at her. “You could bring life to just a stuffed animal? You aren’t even a mage.. How?”

She should’ve known that this part couldn’t be skipped. “We don’t know exactly why, but…it has to do with this” The young woman fished around in her shirt and withdrew a pendant. “It’s called the Phoenix Stone. On that night it glowed a bright blinding blue light. Momon glowed and stood up.”

zerefthekillingmage:

“Eclair.. Made you? What do you mean by that?” He crouched down, now eye level with the bird.

“I don’t remember much, but I do remember that I was very lonely. It was encompassing and it made me feel like I couldn’t go on any longer unless I had a companion of some sorts. Even just a stuffed animal would do. The next day I woke up and gathered supplies after work and sewed him up. That night…” she wasn’t sure if she should tell that part. “Well, the next day he was walking and talking just like now.”

zerefthekillingmage:

“Oh.. I see..” He frowns, feeling bad for the woman, as he averts his gaze to the bird. “What about him? When did you meet him?”

“Three or four years ago” Eclair couldn’t help but think back to that fateful night, how horribly she had treated him, and what he’d done for her. ‘Because I’m your friend. You’ll never be alone now, right?’

“Eclair made me!” the bird stated proudly with a smile, his tail wagging.

zerefthekillingmage:

“Memories?.. Do you suffer from amnesia or something, Eclair?” He looked at her. “I’m sorry to hear..”

“Partial amnesia,” Eclair nods. “I don’t know much though. I know I hate mages, magic, and nosy people,” she smiles. “But…I don’t know who I am, where I came from, or even why I’m alive. I don’t know my family or if I had any other friends,” she looks to the sky.
